Project conferences

Starting cross-border conference, Čakovec (Croatia)

The starting cross-border conference of the BOOS-ME project was held on 15 June 2026 in Čakovec, Croatia, marking the official launch of the project. The conference brought together project partners from Croatia and Hungary, as well as relevant stakeholders and experts from the cross-border area. The participants were introduced to the main objectives, planned activities and expected results of the BOOS-ME project, with a particular focus on improving the energy efficiency of public buildings, promoting renewable energy use and ensuring better indoor air quality.

The conference also provided an opportunity to present the results and experience gained through the CEESEN-BENDER project, particularly the results of one-year indoor air quality monitoring conducted in seven multi-apartment buildings in Čakovec. The findings demonstrated that, in addition to the technical and energy characteristics of buildings, user behaviour and the way indoor spaces are used and maintained have an important influence on indoor environmental quality. These findings provided a relevant basis for the BOOS-ME approach and its focus on the relationship between energy renovation measures, indoor air quality, user behaviour and the long-term energy performance of public buildings.

The event highlighted the importance of cross-border cooperation, knowledge exchange and joint development of practical approaches that can contribute to healthier, more comfortable and energy-efficient public buildings in the Croatian-Hungarian border area.

Project partner meetings

Kick-off project partner meeting, Čakovec (Croatia)

Following the starting cross-border conference, the BOOS-ME project partners held a kick-off meeting to establish the framework for the coordinated implementation of the project. During the meeting, the partners discussed the project objectives, expected results, implementation plan and organisation of work, with particular attention to project management, communication activities and coordination between the two partners.

During the event, the thematic work packages and their planned activities were also presented and discussed. The first work package focuses on developing a methodology for assessing the impact of energy renovation measures on indoor air quality and user behaviour. The second work package addresses activities promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy in the cross-border area, including the development and testing of energy-saving approaches and preparation of technical documentation for future investments. The third work package focuses on training, awareness raising and capacity building of public institutions and other relevant stakeholders.

The kick-off meeting established a common understanding of the partners’ roles and responsibilities and provided a basis for effective cooperation and coordinated implementation of the planned project activities throughout the project period.
